Concert & Rehearsal Information
-
To ensure high quality of performances, DMM members are required to attend the majority of rehearsals. Typically, that means attending 60%, or more, of the rehearsals. Exceptions to this policy are made from time to time with the Band Director's approval.
-
100% DMM attendance at concerts is always pursued, but rarely achieved, because all our band members have other lives! Projected Attendance Sheet will be passed around for you to indicate your attendance intentions - Our Band Director needs to know accurate numbers to determine setup and choice of music.
-
For concerts please arrive 45 minutes prior to start-time. All outdoor concerts are weather-dependent; phone your section leader 2 hours prior to start-time.
-
New members should ask about a portable music stand, and a uniform (DMM supplies jacket, tie, cummerbund, while members supply their own black pants or skirt, white shirt, black shoes).
-
We often go for a snack, dinner, or drink after concerts; your suggestions for nearby coffee shops or restaurants are welcome.
